Childrens Room Decorations

Why do some adults insist on trying to turn childrens birthday parties into their own parties?

My baby boy is turning one in two weeks and I am planning a simple party in the yard. Planning on finger foods, cake, games for the kids to play with Elmo decorations, loot bags. My baby loves Elmo. My sister-in-law is asking me about what D.J. I'm getting. I'm not having one. Now she is upset because I'm not serving liquor and inviting certain adults that she wants to party with. She said she'll bring her own bottles of booze and I said "No". My husband says "don't get into it with her, leave her alone". A few months ago I went to a birthday party for my nephew and it was in a room in the back of a bar with a lot of booze and drunk adults and the D.J. was so loud you could not hear yourself talking. This sister-in-law got drunk and was pretending she was playing guitar dancing around and when she bent down dancing she split her pants in the back and all the kiddies were exposed to her big butt and thong hanging out. Shouldn't a kiddie party just be for the kiddies?

You are absolutely right, ever been to a mexican party? Talk about a adult party.
